Prebends Bridge - Morning Glow
Prebends Bridge - Morning Glow

This is an early morning view in late April of the famous 'Prebends Bridge' in Durham City, County Durham. The early morning sunlight is reflecting warmly on the bridge as the dappled colours of spring dance fleetingly across the river, the faint morning mist hovers before the rower. I seem to favour this particular time of the day as I'm noticing quite a few pieces of my work are of a similar time!

Prebends bridge was built in 1777 and offers one of the best views of Durham Cathedral. Inscribed on the bridge are the poetic words written by Sir Walter Scott about the city: "Grey Towers of Durham, Yet well I love thy mixed and massive piles, Half church of God half castle against the Scot, And long to roam these venerable aisles, With records stored of deeds long since forgot".

The Giclée Limited Edition quantity is 100 and measures 15.3" x 10" (39.1cm x 25.4cm), each print is supplied named, signed and numbered in pencil with a 1 inch white border beyond the image size above. The Giclée print is printed on superior archive quality 192gsm paper supplied as print only and not mounted or framed. Print will be bagged carefully and supplied in a protective postal tube or alternative for safety and comes complete with a certificate of edition number authenticity and print run length.
