Painted straight from life (and thankfully just before I ate the subject matter - it was just too hard to resist). The sun was streaming in through the window and illuminating the top of the cherry that almost had the appearance of being polished, so with one or two quick sketches I went straight to paint (watercolour). It is painted onto a 300lb Fabriano Artisitico Hot Pressed watercolour board. The board has quite a "blotting" surface which limits the amount of colour pushing you can do before it's absorbed and such an expensive material to use.

Mounted in a single Ivory linen effect board making the final size 12 x 10 inches and is unframed. Signed and named in pencil.
