Another colourful Birthday card design aimed at the youth market. I forget what the exact demographics are for the sales of Greetings cards but it's something like 80 - 90% of all cards sold are to Women and what is called the 'everyday' card type ("Happy Birthday" or "Just to Say" etc) amounts to roughly 60%, so there are way more cards with that type of neutral sentiment than any other! I have to say that was the most popular occasion I was asked to design or illustrate.

With the "Girlz Luv 2 Boogie" card, once drawn, inked in and scanned into the computer (I always draw and ink in manually as I like the physical 'feel' of drawing rather than use a tablet to draw on). I then scanned a piece of denim for the background and the other graphical elements such as type, stars and colours were added after that.
