Pastel Parallels - Greetings card
Pastel Parallels - Greetings card

I have always had a deep love of design and quite often that can be the simplest of design. As I have said before on other pages here, that less is quite often more and what's not there is as important as what is. My "Pastel Parallels" is very loosely based around that wonderful range of iconic pottery known as Cornishware. It's one of my eldest Daughters favourites, Jenny, and as a design it's quite simple but "right". Traditionally just bands of blue and white and without knowing the history of the ware it's easy to see that the blue represents the endless sea with the white as the crests of the choppy waves.

Designed in the 1920's by a salesman called Tom G. Green who, after making a spur of the moment decision, bought a pottery in Scarborough whilst on honeymoon there and decided he wanted to produce breakfast ware. Not knowing anything about pottery he set about learning the trade and the birth of the range began.

My greetings card design is again purely graphical art with no real illustration at all, but relies on the harmony of colour and composition. Created entirely from my computer, the design has not been produced comercially, but I feel it could - who knows, maybe one day, (publishers - I'm still here).

I am always willing to accept commissions for drawing, painting, Illustration and designing etc, (depending on current workloads), please feel free to drop me a line via the 'Contact us' from the drop down menu above to discuss your requirements, thank you.
